Sea lion noise--pretty much describes it. (no crackeling though) Strange that cold weather vs hot weather makes such a differance. I don´t believe any thing is bent. I don't do any off roading. Power steering is working normaly, however constant hose leaks have been a problem. Could it be air in the lines?
Steering column rub hoise?
Especially when cold, and after just starting, sounds like deep rubbing noise when turning the steering wheel in either direction. Sound seems more interior than exterior. Have pulled all steering covers and checked underneath, but nothing aparent.
