After replacing the steering pump and water pump my new to me 2001 Disco 2 was driving like a dream.
Went out for a drive today and went 20 miles - no problems. Went fishing. Drove back the same road with 3 hours later with the only difference being the roads were slightly wet. On a few occassions between 40 and 60 mph the steering acted like it had a mind of its own! I would almost call it wandering but it definatley felt very unsafe. When I slowed down a bit everything was fine. The feeling was very un-nerving. It is difficult to explain how it felt. It did not seem to be caused by hitting potholes or different cambers. It was like a small movement in the steering to the left caused too much of an adjustment and then the steering went very floaty until it corrected itself.
Sorry if the explanation is not very good.
Any ideas would be great!
