I have just bought a Land rover 1981 series 3. When I drive it I have to keep correcting the vehicle left and right with the steering wheel as it appears to 'drift' on its own. This occurs all the time making it difficult to keep the vehicle in a straight line. It can be quite worrying. The person I bought the vehicle off said he changed the King pins for the MOT which was done in June but I am wondering whether or not it was done.

Hmm, this thread should be moved to the series forum...

But, check the swivel pin preload, prolly too loose...also, the pinch bolt off of the steering relay could be loose. The best thing to do is jack the vehicle up so there is no weight on the steering system, turn the wheel and see what *doesn't* move...that's where your play is...
