Hello All,

I have the stock radio in my 99 D2, I have noticed I can turn the radio on without needing to have the key in the ignition. Is this a normal feature or is there something I should be looking at?

Sounds like someone direct wired it to the battery. Just be sure to turn it off when you turn off the engine. It is not supposed to work that way.

mine works without the key and will auto shut off after 5 minutes of playing. i'm not the only rover that i've seen do that so it's normal

Completely normal. The radio will shut off when you shut off the engine, but if you then press the knob to turn it back on it will play for 30 minutes and then turn off again automatically.

Well, that is a feature I never discovered before. Need to try it on my 99 DII.
