1995 lwb. Started out this morning and the SRS light starts flickering and try's to stay full on. So I go straight to google and find all the various comments and solutions; including many from this board. most of them are a few years old and many say take it to the dealer. whoa! I don't think my dealer even works on "old rovers".

this board has got the experience, and a bunch of old Rovers; What's the current thinking on SRS light procedures and remedies??

I think it is Dealer only reset. I gave up on it and painted it black from the inside the gauges, when I had it apart for other reason. I was not able to take the bulb out without risking breaking the needle off. I have a big ARB bumper on it and thought that is why the light is not happy.

Whatever you do, don't do this. What's gonna happen is this guy will "forget" he did that and sell it to someone. Countless people here have gotten screwed this way. I didn't know people actually did this until I got into the LR world. Seems harder to take the dash apart and rip out a light you're mad at then fix the problem or leave it.

Lemme Google that for ya...

Disco, be nice..."this guy"?
I reply to the question, because there were no other suggestions and I understand, how frustrating it could be.
I did NOT say to do anything, I only said what I did after countless frustrating searches on 3 AMIGOS, SRS fix... when the dash was apart anyway! The red flashing light is still visible, but it is not flashing in my face at night that bright. I bought the truck last fall and will keep it. I am rebuilding it right now, so don't worry, please.

How would you fix it anyway, you did not offer any solution, did you?

Yeah I put a Google response which took 3sec of my time. I don't own one of these or I would be more involved with trouble shooting it. I think its a good point that if you plan on fixing it..."I'm gonna fix the problem then take the dash back off and fix the problem I made cause I couldn't stand looking at the light." I think its also a good point to tell the countless stories I've seen here of people purchasing one with the light bulb removed or painted... I never meant you would do it or intended to apply guilt in your direction.

lwbblue - everyone is correct. You need a PC to reset this. Somebody running black box can do it. There are a bunch of refutable rover shops--- I would just call in advance and see if they have the capabilities to hook up to the 14CUX.

I was poking around on here... i thought there was a list of recognized shops--- havent found the link yet.

thanks all. grnole, sounds like "testbook" will do the trick. There are a couple of rover specialists shops in Phoenix that I can call. Maybe Dave's has the program.

If any of you Phoenix shops are following this,,,let's hear from you.
