Testing a worn cam easily

1511 Views 0 Replies 1 Participant Last post by  philippe
A recent top end rebuild ended up with the bottom of a new cam follower being broken/sheared off by the cam...The car ran OK with a new follower for a while but has developed very poor pickup and performance recently.
At tickover all seems ok but it is hard to do a dynamic test underload.
I believe my new cam is damaged from the sheared off part of the follower.

Is there an easy way to test the performance of a cam without stripping the inlet manifold off and have a look?
Many thanks,
Philippe
