Need to add a trailer light connector to my 2014 LR2. There is a 15 Amp fuse circuit located in the Passenger Compartment Fuse Box listed as "Trailer Connector" in slot F48. Is there a wiring end near the rear of the vehicle by the receiver hitch? I installed a Curt aftermarket hitch and now need lights. Thanks

There is a plug for the OEM tow harness behind one of the interior panels in the rear cargo area. For an aftermarket harness, you'd proabbly have to cut the OEM plug off and splice the wires.

If you can google the instructions to install the OEM harness, that will tell you how to find the plug.

However...the OEM harness will not work unless the dealer activates it with a computer. If you use the OEM wires you would likely have the same problem. Might be cleaner to buy the OEM harness from an aftermarket vendor, install yourself, and then take it to the dealer for activation.

If you really want to use an aftermarket harness, you probably need to wire it directly to vehicle's brake/tail light wires (accessible behind the taillight covers). This will get around the dealer activation issue.
