[Nantucket LR Disco]

1995 Disco with 3.9 Auto.
The transfer lever refuses to move when I try according to the direction in the owners manual. It mentions that there are electrical constraints to insure against shifting in anything but neutral. The previous owner said he had never touched it in the 5 years he had owned it. I need to be able to lock the differential in high for sand operation.

It's most likely frozen since he hasnt used it in a while.. do a search/discoweb for frozen and you'll find some info.. basically i think you just need to spray the linkage down with something lik wd40 or pb blaster and try to get it working again.

if its not going anywhere its probably the siezed linkage, but if you can lock the diff, but if you can lock the diff and cant get it into low range, its probably the solenoid on top of the transfer case.
