I have read all the post related to this subject. My understanding is there are 2 sensors one up front with the cooler (passenger side) other is on on the Tranny in Bottom.

My light is always on, obviously it's not a temperature issue. I disconnected one at a time to see if anything changes none so far. I could replace the sensors but I don't know if they are bad. any idea how to diagnose this ?

Will appreciate help. :confused

they both work through a double loop
you cant just disconnect them, you have to short the 2 pins together on each connector. IE take the front one off and join the 2 pins in the connector together switch on and if the light is gone then its the front sensor if its still on then its the Transfer Case sensor (or possibly both) otherwise just disconnect both - they didnt use them after 2004.
