Okay the short of it is the fuel gage is off. Reads empty some times when full and reads empty most of the time with less than 10-15 gallons of fuel in the tank.

I clock the mileage each fill up, so I have something to go by but... running those last 150 miles with the fuel light on is starting to become unnerving.

Any suggestings would be greatly appreciated.

Started out as once in a while the fuel gage would stay at emply then rise back up... now past few days... only rises with a freshly filled tank and that does not last long.

Yeah agreed, I'd also go to the top of the fuel pump and check the output from the fuel level sending unit. If you need me to I can get some specs so you can check yours out. Also if yours is bad i have a spare.
