Hello, the initial literature that came with the 87 RR Classic mentions the Calif. emmissions standard has initiated the installation of a vacuum advance delay which can be easily eliminated!! Is this the little orange and black "check" valve in the vacuum line from the plenum to the distributor? Can this be eliminated for better perfomance? Ours seems to be operating proper to the manual, however, I fail to see how this "delay' could cause any advance as it passes the vacuum very very slowly. Thanks, Mike

The newer classics didnt come with that delay valve. Im guessing that you should be OK without it. That 3.5 needs all the ignition advance you can get
