I just recently got an '02 BMW 330ci, and that car is nice.

But for some reason, I tip my hat off to my rangie. This truck, even with the problems, seems to have more soul than any other make or model out there. I feel almost guilty appreciating an old clunker more than I do the bimmer.

I would just like you guys to take a minute and be thankful that you own what I would call a timeless masterpiece that goes beyond the value of money.

on a side note, hopefully i feel this way about the bmw once i completely part with the rover, as I am planning on selling it in the new year :bawling: .

Regards,

Selling Rover for the Bimmer????

I heard of opposite, Selling Bimmer for Rover but never heard of selling Rover for Bimmer.
Rover being Timeless Design, you can haul basically anything, Offroad King, nice highway cruiser, and etc etc Vs. Bimmer being, driving?? No Offroad?? Cannot haul?? Although, it is the ultimate driving machine.
I am selling my 95 325IC and keeping my Rover!!

I'll make a tribute.

I have a porsche 944 which i have the engine out of, since early spring, and probably won't have back together until this coming spring...

I just bought a volvo 740 turbo sedan to play with and have something reliable...

AND FOR ALL YOU ROVER BASHERS..... I find myself wishing i was driving the range rover because I don't have to worry about anything going wrong in it..... aint that ironic.. i trust the rover more than the volvo. Last weekend after not using it for a few weeks i jumped in the rover, tore through the pole lines for a couple hours, came home, no problems. I love it.. Always starts quick, no clunks, knocks, squeeks.. ahhh.

to me, new bmw's have certaintly lost their edge compared to old ones. owning a e36 (1996) 328i and an e30 (1990) 325is, the older model inspires me much much more. both great cars, but each year mark turns away form motorsport and towards the luxury market....the new 330 is very quick and handles great, but nothing compares with the turn in and oversteer fun of the 1990 325is..

Interesting you say. I just sold my 95 325IC with 150k miles on it. Not a single oil leak or funny sound and the handling is incredible being convertible. Chasis flex was prevented by the OEM x-brace, double insulated convertible top was quite, and the quality car was built is just amazing.
My friend just purchased 2004 330XI and it is very nice and handles well, but just does not have the BMW edge to it anymore. It is too plush, soft, and geared towards Lexus marquee, which is a luxury plush market.....

out of anything, im still a bimmer fanatic. always will be. from the 2002 to the e39 M5, i love them! its just sad to see them changing....sure each new body style is hard to agree with at first, but they all grow on you- thats not why its sad. its sad because the very things that used to make a car a bmw are gone. look at the new M5. sure its quick, very quick actually, but the point of a luxury car with power is that you dont need to rev to 9,000 rpm to get there, you should be able to get sufficient pull with awesome subtley from 2,000 rpm.. another example, the new new upcoming M3. the current model is breathtaking, i doubt the new one will compare- and not just in looks. the new one will have a v8, and thats not waht the 3 series is for. its gonna push out through the corners- the m3 has always been a lightweight- a handling inspired car- the first one had a 4cyl. i'll always love bmw's, but probably just the old ones.. like Adrian said, his e36 was a tremendously built car, and since then they have gotten bigger and heavier. not knocking your car in any respects, nmtdriver, the modern 330 is one serious car, looks sweet and is damn quick in the corners, especially when equipped with sport stuff. :twocents:
oh, and i'm also a subaru guy, hence the name..
and a land rover guy, hence im on this forum..
