Hey all. New to everything Land Rover. My father inherited this from his father on two conditions: he can't paint zebra stripes on it, and he has to leave it to me.

All I know is what I've been told by my dad; I haven't even seen it in person yet. Apparently it's a 1959, long bed (according to my grandfather, 1 of about 20 long beds shipped to the US that year, is that verifiable somehow?), with a small motor.

I'm looking for basic knowledge, and any tips, tricks, and cheats about this truck.

Thanks in advance!

nice looking thing Mate.

get on the website at the Heritage Motor Centre , Gaydon and stick the Chassis number in - this should give you details of the original destination for dispatch.

Get yourself the requisite Haynes manual for the model + the web has free Parts manuals and workshop manuals floating about - all are helpful to id part numbers etc .

cheers,

Doc
