I'm a newbie and my Discovery did not come with the owners manual. I'm wondering what the button below the one for the drivers/fog lights does. It looks like a high beem icon, but I can't tell any difference when I turn it on. Thanks for your help. This forum and the people on it make owning a land rover even better!!

Sounds like your rear fog lights. Turn on lights, look at the tail lights, then hit that button, and see if your tails get brighter.

you're right. it turns on the bumper brake lights. I'm assuming to assist in reversing at night???

Do you not get fog where you come from? High intensity fog lights so that people don't slam into the back of you in the mist.

not very often. but they also can help reversing. Of course with an automatic you can ride the brakes a little. But with a cluth you've got one foot on the cluth and the other on the gas, makes it a little difficult seeing the trailer and backing up at the same time.

My reversing lights work well when going backwards, surely you have these!

no, i haven't had to hitch a trailer yet with my disco. I had a jeep wrangler before and they just have little reverse lights. So i would always have to tap the brake to see where I was going.
