Dunno if anyone can help but...

I was thinking of buying another set of wheels off eBay. Any ideas what wheels (rims if you like) will fit on a 95LWB RRC?????? I am then gonna put super swampers or some other agressive tread on them for some fun 4x4'ing. Remember I do not want to go the route of suspension or wheel arch mods....just plug n play! :D :drive:

Serg: Did you ever fit the Disco wheels? If so do you have pics!

Cheers!

15x8 Steel wheels

33" 12.50 15" its kinda wierd looking at a tire size in inches, but when you go down to a 15 inch wheel you can get a taller tire. Of course I do have some rubbing issues even though i have cut the wheel wells and added after market arches.

I have checked out a few Tire conversion calculators on the web, but they are all set up to convert metric to inches and not the other way around..

More wheels

I ordered a set today from Gulf Coast Rovers, including spare, 15x7's black Nuggets. It is a good thing that ther are "cheap" the shipping and lugs doubled the cost. UGH! I have been trying to decide on a tire. I do not want anything as big as a 33, I do not want to cut sheetmetal. So I am thinking that I will go with a 31/10.5-15 on the 15x7's I bought. It is nearly 2" taller overall then stock with a 4-5% taller ratio. I am anxious to see how this effects performance on road. The tire I am focused on is the Firestone Destination M/T. Seems a good choice and people seem to really like them. Cheaper then a BFG M/T and in some reviews, better. Always looking for insight so please feel free to input. thanks for getting back to me.

FYI, I am purchasing a 3" Rovertyme suspension. Scheduled to do the rear prop shaft swap and I am looking into the front propshaft options.

thanks,

To respond to the calculator statement. I use two sites:

http://www.s-series.org/htm/calc/tiresizeconv.htm
and
http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

I also use the tire info posted on Tirerack.com's web site and just do some averaging. Complicated, but it works.

Side wall Side wall Side wall.. Or Load rating.... I always go for the thickest stiffest sidewalls available, otherwise the steering is too spongy!!..

Check out the Tire thread posted this week..

Differing oppinions

I have been told that the stiffest is NOT the best for off road use. I do not have any experience, but I have a good feeling that the source is very accomplished. I do understand that a well built, protected sidewall is necesarry for rock and stump protection, though.

I was talking to another parts vendor this week regarding suspension and asked about tire suggestions. The response I got back was it was very regional and that I should ask locally. His experience, much like yours, is that the BFG M/T is a really good tire. He also stated that the Goodyear MTR was popular in places like UT.

Like a kid in a candy store. It seems that there are too many choices.

again, insight always welcome.

Edit: I re-read my post. I think I might be confused. Please clarify for me

Lug pattern: I think it is 5(lugs) in a 6.5" pattern? Right?

If so - which MY of discovery had the same pattern?? Not sure but I think it was the 1994-1999 MY not including the Disco II?????

Any help is great - I found a really good looking set of chrome Disco's but they said they are for a Disco II

I am also guessing that all the 95 onwards Range Rover wheels wont fit right??
