When LR3 cold where sould the antifreeze level be.
And when warm?
There are 2 lines between writing of the expansion tank.

We just did a coolant change in my LR3 and the RR Sport and we filled to half way between two lines cold. We ran it, let it sit overnight, and topped to half way between cold and it is running great.

As stated in the RAVE repair manual, maintenance section:

"Top-up with a 50% mixture of antifreeze and
water, see LUBRICANTS AND FLUIDS, 311, up
to the upper level indicator mark located above
the COLD FILL LEVEL text on the side of the
expansion tank. This should be viewed from
standing in front of the vehicle. Ignore any
coolant visible in the top section of the tank."

All LR dealerships have told me that when cold it should be at the lower level line, and when warm at upper level line. ????
And what's the deal with the extra antifrezze held at the very top?

My friend who is a rover tech told me that technically the manual days fill to cold level line when cold, as stated above. For whatever reason they always top them off just slightly. You're talking about maybe a 1/2 inch or inch of coolant over the cold full line , that is not going to be an issue
