I'm looking at buying a Series II disco and was curious as to if the tires on my 96' will work on the series II? They are a Dunlop Radial Rover RT 225/75-16. I'm not sure what the rim width is on the series II. I believe the 96 is 7.0. If they will fit, will the tires on the seriesII (255/65-16)fit the 96 or will they be too wide? I'd like to keep them because they only have about 5k on them and they are the best tire I have found for off roading and in snow.

Your D1 tires and wheels won't fit on a D2, different lug nut pattern, plus you really want the 8" wheels on a D2 and step up to a 245/75/16 or better yet a 265/75/16 if the truck has a lift.

Tires will fit... but...

I would not do it unless the wheel width is the same as your D1...

The biggest concern would be losing the seal on the wheel, if off-road side pressure or imacts would be more likely to unseat it with the wide wheel and narrow tires.
