Alright I know in some regards the answer is yes it is worth it to go genuine but in others I feel that paying 1200 for an alternator when I could pay 200 or buying the genuine brakes when I could pay half for proline is ridiculous. This is where my questions is I guess however. Where should I truly go genuine every time for reliability's sake? Is a distributor cap, leads, alternator etc going to need to be genuine to perform well or will proline parts do the job? I'm all for saving money when it makes sense but I'm also a firm believer in buy once cry once and want to do things right. Thanks for your help!
