Thanks in advance for your help on this.
I have an 06 LR3 with recent coolant loss. I replaced the coolant and ran the engine until the thermostat opened in an effort to diagnose where it's leaking from, and have found two suspect locations.
Location #1. There is a coolant leak dripping off of the oil filter housing...not pouring, but a drip every 10 seconds or so. My initial thought was water pump, but when I feel up underneath the pump, it's dry. About 4 years ago I replaced the thermostat, housing, and installed a brass bleeder, so it not the dreaded bleeder failure. I can see no evidence of any leakage at the top of the motor, nor is anything leaking down the back side of the motor, leading me to believe that it's not an issue in the valley.
Location #2. This is strange...there is a dripping off of the transmission that presents as condensate. I pulled the shield and see dripping from a small rubber outlet coming out the body (cabin) above the shift linkage. I assumed that it's a condensation drain for the A/C system, but it's dripping more than I would expect...a lot more.
I'm going back out now to investigate further. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Paul
