I have a 2000 LR discovery 2. The car has been having problems and I've been buying the needed parts for months now and still it doesn't work right. It was randomly just dying middle of a drive, took it into land rover they said crank sensor. Bought the new one they fixed it. drove it home, next day wouldn't start. And didnt for days. Took it back to land rover, said fuel pump now, bought a new one and fixed it. They also told me batter needed replaced. So i drive it about 15 miles. Went back out later that day to drive around since it was in the shop for weeks. Started right up, drove 20 feet and shut off. wouldn't start for the next to days. Land Rover doesn't know what to do. bought a new battery, finally got it to fire up with some starter fluid, it ran for about 10 min i revved it some sounded great no check engine, al of a sudden it revved up on its own then shut off. Haven't been able to start it since.

So far I've purchased/installed
- battery/fuel pump and relay/crankshaft sensor/starter/spark igniters that need replacing/

Any ideas on what in the world is going on? I've put way to much money on upgrades and things for it to never work! Not sure what else to do! please help with any ideas/advice on what to do!

thanks!!

It would be good to know what fault codes are/were stored in the ECU though, it could be a wiring issue on the crank signal path or on the ECU feed/earth or even ECU fault... live data reading with tester it's the way to diagnose this to see what's missing when it doesnt start, it can be very expensive this way just swapping parts randomly without a proper troubleshooting

for test swap relays R9(main) with R8(heated screen), R1(pump) with R3(headlamp wash)
