Did you pull the engine out to remove cyl heads? Was everything in good working order before you did the work? That you know for sure?

Are the lights flashing immediately after you start the engine, or after it has idled for 20 mins? It happened a couple times on me when the engine idles for a while and the fluid over-heats. And when the tranny fluid is running hot the engine coolant is too.

obviously the first thing that you want to do is plug up an OBD2 reader to get the fault codes. Check trans fluid fill level and make sure it's not low. If level is OK I would move on to Draining fluid, pull the pan and see what you have on the magnet sitting at the bottom. If the fluid is no longer cherry red and smells burnt, you will need to refill with new Dexron3 and put a new filter in it. When you drain the fluid, get it in a clean, clear catcher so you can see it and then re-use it if it checks out. You actually want to avoid refilling the trans with brand new fluid if at all possible. Pick up a trans filter and 5-quarts of trans fluid tomw. Keep the receipt, check back with your findings and hopefully you will be returning the full bottles. Also check that front of radiator is clean and clear of debris on both sides/inbetween. Do you monitor coolant temps with Scangauge? Ultragauge? Anyway to know what your coolant operating temp is? 4 gasket replacements on a Rover leads me to believe you are referencing dash cluster gauges for engine temp Which is causing all of your problems. Need to know what temp your engine is running at along with all the other info.

Just a reminder to everyone... the transmission lights... S and M will blink after start up if the voltage of the battery is low. For me... I just let the truck idle for a few moments and then restart it and everything is fine. But... this does not address the problems that MSjones21 is talking about as he is getting a lot more in the way of blinking warning lights.

X2 on the low voltage issue.
Check the battery connections and main engine grounds, test the charging system and verify proper alternator output (voltage and amperage)
