I own a 2006 Range Rover SPort HSE and have experienced recent issues with my car not starting. Initially this occurred when i turned the key and the engine did not start. I noticed that the AC, radio and other dash light indicators did come on. The car started on a second turn of the key. This same pattern continued for a couple of weeks. I took to a reputable Range Rover specialist who told me it definitely was not a battery issue but that he could not diagnose or repair the problem without replicating the problem I was having. This was somewhat of a surprising answer to me, but he continued by saying that he didn't want to charge me for installation of a new starter if that was not the issue.
Over the last couple of weeks the problem seemed to vanish but over the last 2 days, the issue has reappeared and is now taking 3, 4, 5 and sometimes more attempts to start the car before the engine actually comes on. I have noticed a slight "tic" when i turn the key and as before, the AC, radio and dash light indicators all power on although the engine does not.
Please let me know your recommendations and what you suggest I do. I feel it is a matter of time before I get stranded.
