Spare tire on the hood?

I'm obviously bored and looking to start something I'll have problems finishing. I've been looking at Series Rovers with hood mounted spares and wondered what that setup would look like on a DII. And then wondered if it had been done already. So I searched the forum but came up dry. I know this isn't an original thought (I have few of those), so I'm hoping it's been discussed before and either shot down as impractical or just stupid...or, maybe someone did it and likes it and would be willing to share how it was done. Either way, I thought I'd ask. Thanks.

I’ve always appreciated that look too. This fella on LRF did it:

I don’t think the disco lends itself to this, either functionally or aesthetically.

I know that if I had a 305/55/20 on my hood, I couldn’t see ****!

Honestly I wouldn't do it. Leave it where it's at or chuck it in the boot.
The Defender and Series owners I know prefer their spare mounted on the rear door or inside the rear area.

Agree
I have driven a number of series trucks with the tire on the hood and don’t care for it at all, blocks your already limited forward view and the hood is HEAVY with a tire on it 😑

OK, you talked me out of it. Looking at that photo, the DII just can't pull it off. Too new and fancy (comparatively) to look right. Like I said, I was bored. I have plenty of other things to do to the rig, so maybe I'll just keep my nose to the grindstone. Thanks for steering me straight.
