I'm looking to add some new rubber to my '99 Disco II.
It will be used as a hunting rig and I can get anywhere I need to with the stock suspension and tire height but want to put a little bit bigger tires on and have a bit more off-road capability for the rocky (basalt) terrain I frequent. I also want better performance in snow, as I'll travel far more on snowy roads than I will off-road.
I'll be adding a 2" Terrafirma lift kit to the rig before I make the tire purchase. I want the tires to not require other mods....just a bit more clearance and some cooler looks and better snow traction. Smoothness of ride will also be important. I'll be using 16" wheels and GVW will be within factory max.
What size tires should I be looking at? I want to keep it simple, and am thinking of running Goodyear Duratracs.
I've tried the search engine but am unable to find anything about good snow tires for the Terrafirma 2" lift. Thanks!
